What is Snoring?

In Medical world, snoring is outlined as a noise caused by vibration from the airways of the respiratory tract that solely  appears while sleeping.

"Snoring is the vibration of respiratory structures and the resulting sound, due to obstructed air movement during  breathing while sleeping. In some cases the sound may be soft, but in other cases, it can be loud and unpleasant."

What Causes Snoring?

What actually cause snoring...? This may be a question that hard to answers when were talking of only one cause. For in reality,  there are several basic contributors that each one funnel into the larger supply of the problem, and bellow are some of them:
  • Dehydration of the nasal cavities due to several elements  including allergy medications
  • Allergies that cause clogs within the air ways
  • Flu and Cold
  • Thickening of the tissues along the nasal passage.
  • Irritation of the air passages because of overuse of nasal sprays.
  • Smoking that causes inflammation within the air passages
  • Blockage of the airflow because of big tongue.
  • Obesity
  • Excessive intake of alcohol
  • Abnormally large guts or belly
  • Abnormal enlargement of the tonsils or the adenoids
  • Swelling of the thyroid gland or goiter
  • Medicines that initiate relaxation
  • Inefficient neural control on the nasal membranes

Usually, precaution of the major causes will treat snoring, includes prohibition from drinking alcohol, smoking and  some relaxants, and keeping of a perfect weight. All these have adverse effects not only on the body however will  directly lead to lose muscles to vibrate abnormally.
